FINAL RESTING

Many times I whispered, many times I cried, many times I called out and many times I tried.

So many times I hungered to feel your softest touch, but all the time my longing for you was just too much.

Then in the lonely darkness that gathered round my heart, I built a silent fortress of which you were not part. And love died there in anguish forgotten in the gloom, starved and choked in sorrow, alone within this room. And in the bitter winter that closed about the keep, was laid alone to resting in a soul's eternal sleep.
